The Institute of World Politics is pleased to announce that Dr. David Glancy was named the Walter and Leonore Annenberg Chair of International Communication on November 6, 2015.
Students, alumni, and faculty members, as well as members of Dr. Glancy’s family, were present to celebrate the official conferral of this Chair.
During this ceremony, Dr. John Lenczowski, president and founder of IWP, commented, “The whole field of public diplomacy — a major focus of this Chair — was one of the reasons I wanted to start this school. When David came on board, he had studied this field, and he had done international communications work professionally. We pride ourselves on having scholar-practitioners who do what they teach.”
In his remarks, Dr. Glancy mentioned, “It’s about the students and preparing them for the challenges that come ahead. As a professor, teaching motivated and interested students — it doesn’t get any better than that.”
The whole IWP community was pleased to learn that Dr. Glancy will continue to share his knowledge and experience with the students and faculty at the Institute. Many thanks to the Annenberg Foundation for making this professorship possible.
