Chaplain (LTC) Karen Meeker, an IWP US Army War College Fellow, is scheduled to speak at the Brooking Institution on March 1st. The Lieutenant Colonel will be a part of a committee of speakers addressing “The Next Generation of Terrorism” at the Brooking Institution’s seventh annual military and federal fellow research symposium. Specifically, CH Meeker will discuss “War of beliefs: Battle for the soul.”
The event, which is entitled “Beyond 2016: Security challenges and opportunities for the next administration,” includes researchers and fellows from a broad spectrum of specializations, in order for attendants to gain a more comprehensive understanding of 21st century American security policy.
Chaplain Meeker currently conducts research as a part of the US Army War College Fellow Program, and has completed three decades of service in the US Army. Chaplain Meeker has deployed to an array of countries, such as Afghanistan,South Korea, Kuwait, and most recently returned from a deployment serving as the chaplain for CENTCOM Forward Jordan (CF-J). She is a graduate of Bucknell University and Harvard Divinity School, as well as military schools such as the Command General and Staff College and Chaplain Captain Center.
