On February 27th, a group of cadets from the United States Military Academy at West Point’s Class of 2018 visited IWP for a roundtable discussion with IWP faculty, leadership, and guests. Also representing West Point were Major Jason LeVay, Instructor, and Dr. David Gioe, Assistant Professor of History, who recently spoke at IWP on the case of Soviet military intelligence officer Colonel Oleg Penkovsky.

IWP Senior Vice President of Professional Affiliations Captain Christopher D. Glass, Sr., USN-Retired hosted the visit, which centered on a roundtable discussion about the nature, study, and practice of intelligence.

The dialogue was led by IWP intelligence professors John Sano and David Thomas, Executive Vice President Larry Cosgriff, Senior Vice President for Cyber Intelligence Captain Dean Lane USN-Retired, and special guests Professor Burton Gerber and Mr. Richard Holm.

Mr. Gerber is a 39-year veteran of the CIA, where he worked as a case officer and Chief of Station. He has spoken at IWP in the past on the ethics of intelligence. Richard (Dick) Holm is also former CIA, having served under 13 CIA directors. He is the recipient of the Agency’s highest award, the Distinguished Intelligence Medal.
