In May, IWP signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Villanova University in Pennsylvania. Villanova is the sixth school to sign an MoU with IWP, and the Institute is pleased to continue to bring outstanding students to our graduate and internship programs through these partnerships.
“The Ryan Center of Villanova University is honored to be affiliated with The Institute of World Politics — one of the premier graduate programs specializing in national security politics and grand strategy,” said Dr. Colleen Sheehan, director of The Matthew J. Ryan Center for the Study of Free Institutions and the Public Good at Villanova. “In our current political situation, we need some of our best graduates to pursue these critically important fields of study and practice.”
Through the MoU, Villanova students and alumni admitted to IWP will receive a guaranteed $2,200 per semester scholarship, with additional merit-based awards also available. Villanova students will also be considered for early admittance if they apply to IWP after April 1 of their third undergraduate year.
One Villanova alumna has already begun her studies at IWP. Jennifer is the recipient of the $25,000 scholarship from The Louis DeJoy and Aldona Z. Wos Family Foundation and a $2,200 Joe C. Hayes Scholarship. In addition to these two IWP scholarships, she will receive $2,200 per semester as part of the new partnership.
“IWP is thrilled to embark upon this new partnership with Villanova University and the Ryan Center,” Vice President of Graduate Recruitment Tim Stebbins said. “IWP’s central mission of educating the next generation of leadership in intelligence, diplomacy, and national security is greatly strengthened by this endeavor, as is our mutual commitment to American values and their defense. Thanks to this, Villanova alumni are now able to take better advantage of the unique education offered by IWP.”
Mr. Stebbins and Dr. Sheehan were the driving forces behind this partnership.
