The Institute of World Politics is pleased to announce that Matthew Gensler, Senior Managing Director and Chief Investment Strategist at Capstone Investment Financial Group, has joined the Board of Advisors.

In his role at Capstone Investment, Mr. Gensler manages diversified investment portfolios on behalf of his private clients, with typical investments including U.S. and international equity investments, as well as a variety of fixed income securities and ETF and mutual fund vehicles. He also acts as a sub-advisor in fixed income investments for a Southern investment firm.
Matthew received his MBA from Columbia University’s Business School, graduating with Beta Gamma Sigma honors. He is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Brown University.
Prior to joining Capstone, Matthew was the Senior Managing Director and Chief Investment Strategist of Coastal Investment Advisors in Wilmington, Delaware. Before assuming his position at Coastal, he was a senior executive of the asset management company, Ravenswood Capital Group. He previously operated as Managing Director and Portfolio Manager at New York-based asset management company, A.R. Schmeidler & Co., and served as a member of the firm’s Investment Committee.
Prior to working in investment management, Mr. Gensler was senior investment banker at several institutions. At HSBC, one of the world’s largest banks, he headed their Merger and Acquisitions Department. Mr. Gensler also held Managing Director positions in the mergers and acquisitions departments of Deloitte & Touché, Arthur Andersen and Hill Thompson Capital Markets.
