The Institute of World Politics has recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Patrick Henry College (PHC) in Purcellville, VA.
Gordon R. Middleton, Director of Strategic Intelligence Program and Assistant Professor of Strategic Intelligence at Patrick Henry College worked with IWP Director of Graduate Recruitment Tim Stebbins to craft the MoU.
“This is a great opportunity for PHC students for graduate education in national security and intelligence with an institution that is well aligned with our political perspectives,” commented Dr. Middleton. “I have consistently been impressed with the quality of presentations by IWP faculty and students over the years. This also means PHC students will be eligible for Early Assurance Admission, as well as for IWP Research Internships and for Partner Scholarships for their graduate studies.”
The MoU allows students from PHC to receive pre-approved admission into its programs, with matriculation to begin after successful completion of their undergraduate program.
In addition, IWP will reserve one slot in its internship program each semester for a current undergraduate PHC student. IWP has had several interns from Patrick Henry College in the past, and we look forward to hosting future interns to do research with our professors, audit classes at IWP, and network with our community through the internship program.
The MoU also provides PHC students or graduates an opportunity to visit IWP as a group for an open house program, and provides IWP the opportunity to share information about our graduate programs with PHC students.
Finally, for at least ten students and graduates of PHC who apply annually to IWP’s Master’s degree program and are admitted under the regular admissions process, IWP will award partnership scholarships of $2,200 per semester.
Mr. Stebbins commented: “We are absolutely thrilled to welcome PHC into the IWP community. Our shared values and mission to provide top tier defense, intelligence, and diplomatic education to the next generation ensures a strong and fruitful partnership for the future. We know the quality of PHC’s intelligence program and very much look forward to serving their students and alumni community as they take the next step in their journey.”
