IWP and the State Department partner to advance the professional development and expertise of Civil and Foreign Service employees

IWP is pleased to announce that it has launched a new fellowship program in partnership with the United States Department of State, as well as a scholarship program for State Department employees.

The IWP Senior State Department Fellowship provides two Executive Master’s Degree candidates with a yearlong opportunity for professional growth focused on developing and instilling the management skills and breadth of technical knowledge that is important for advancement into the senior ranks. The Fellowship directly serves the Bureau of Human Resources which strives to recruit, retain, and sustain a diverse, talented, and inclusive workforce that is prepared to advance U.S. national security interests and American values in every corner of the world.

Fellows will be immersed in a comprehensive study of the theory and practice of national security policy, process, and implementation, both in historical and contemporary perspectives. Significant attention is focused toward vital current policy issues, as well as understanding foreign cultures and the practices of foreign powers.

Additionally, for Civil and Foreign Service employees who apply annually to any of IWP’s Master’s Degree programs and are admitted under the regular admissions process, IWP will award Department of State scholarships of up to 25% per semester.  The deadline for Admissions and Registration for 2020-2021 is August 1, 2020.  More information on the Admissions Process is available here.

“IWP is honored to partner with the Director General of the Foreign Service and Director of Human Resources who together lead the Bureau of Human Resources responsible for the recruitment, assignment, and career development processes to build an engaged and effective workforce,” commented Captain Chris Glass Sr., USN (ret), IWP Senior Vice President.
