Hasanna Tyus, IWP Registrar, to receive Doctor of Education

Hasanna Tyus, Registrar and Institutional Research Officer at The Institute of World Politics, will receive a Doctor of Education specializing in Higher Education Management from the University of Pittsburgh on August 8.

She has successfully defended her dissertation, which was on the topic of “Addressing the Lack of Diversity in Graduate Schools of International Affairs: Perceived Barriers and Motivators to Enrollment Among Students of Color.”

Dr. Tyus commented: “I am a change agent in higher education! I am committed to improving the access to quality education, instruction, student experience, and attainability of undergraduate and advanced degrees for all students.   I am passionate about conducting research and using data to solve adaptive challenges in higher education.”

IWP founder and president Dr. John Lenczowski said, “This achievement is a testament to her extraordinary strength of character to complete her doctorate in the midst of full-time professional work. I am full of admiration for her.”
