The Institute of World Politics is introducing a new online Graduate Certificate program in Statecraft. This is IWP’s first certificate program completely administered online and will be offered for the first time in the fall of 2021.
The Certificate in Statecraft will require 20 credit hours and will take approximately one year to complete for full-time students. The core curriculum of this program includes a study of international relations and statecraft to provide a greater understanding of the student’s chosen field of study in context. The certificate offers five different specializations from which students are required to choose: Intelligence, Defense Studies, Non-Military Conflict, National Security Affairs, and Public Diplomacy and Strategic Influence. This certificate program helps students learn to evaluate information well and develop effective communications skills so they can put their studies into practice.
All the courses for this program will be conducted online by IWP’s scholar-practitioner faculty through a mix of asynchronous content (such as previously recorded lectures or interviews) as well as mandatory live seminar discussions with the professor. Tuition for this program will be $650 per credit hour.
IWP Dean Dr. Frank Marlo commented: “After announcing our first online M.A. programs this past March, we are pleased to make an IWP Certificate available online as well. This format will allow those who cannot be in our D.C. and Reston classrooms to have access to the expertise of our faculty and benefit of our curriculum.”
