IWP holds Ukraine briefing for IWP Chancellor’s Council members

On March 10, IWP held a briefing exclusively for Chancellor’s Council members on the current situation in Ukraine with three faculty panelists: Founder, Chancellor, and President Emeritus Dr. John Lenczowski, who formerly served as Director of European and Soviet Affairs at the National Security Council; Interim Dean and former special assistant in the Office of the Secretary of Defense Dr. James Robbins; and Dr. Marek Jan Chodakiewicz, The Kosciuszko Chair in Polish Studies and Director of the Center for Intermarium Studies at IWP.

Two dozen Chancellor’s Council members were in attendance. After an overview of the situation and its background from Dr. Lenczowski, Dr. Robbins discussed Vladimir Putin’s war aims. Dr. Chodakiewicz then discussed the devilishly complex issue of disinformation about the possible transfer of Polish MiG-29 aircraft to the Ukrainians. He also reviewed the involvement of IWP alumni in assisting in different dimensions of this conflict.

A robust discussion followed, with Chancellor’s Council members asking questions about the ways in which the U.S. should be involved in the situation, a path to de-escalation, and more.

The Chancellor’s Council is IWP’s donor recognition society for our most committed supporters.
