Mason Taylor, a current student in IWP’s Master of Arts in Statecraft and National Security Affairs program, has been promoted to the position of Operations Manager.
In this new role, he will oversee the administrative operations of the Institute, including reception, building matters, parking, general troubleshooting, telephone, copier, and IT issues.
Mason will also continue to oversee the IWP Internship Program – a program that is designed specifically to prepare interns for careers in national security, intelligence, and international affairs. In his former role as Internship and Recruitment Coordinator, Mason has been managing this program since fall 2020. This spring, IWP has 25 interns in the program, and in the summer, we expect to welcome 25 interns.
Originally from Lehi, Utah, Mason studied history with a minor in national security studies at Utah Valley University (UVU). Through IWP’s partnership with UVU, Mason attended a summer seminar at IWP’s campus. He remembered, “I walked in not knowing that graduate school would be part of my plan, and I walked out knowing that IWP was where I wanted to go.” He joined the IWP M.A. program and IWP staff in August 2020.
In his free time, Mason competes in the Highland Games, a strongman competition, enjoys power lifting, and is learning how to fly fish.
Congratulations to Mason on this new role at IWP!
