A new Fox Nation documentary entitled The Unauthorized History of the Vietnam War features two IWP professors: Prof. Al Santoli and IWP Interim Dean of Academics Dr. James Robbins.
Both professors are featured in the promo for the documentary, which may be found here. The documentary is hosted by Fox News chief political anchor Brett Baier and will become available on May 26th.
Prof. Santoli, a Vietnam war veteran with three Purple Hearts, was first interviewed by the producer of this program in 1985. Prof. Santoli wrote the first oral history of the war by a combatant, Everything We Had: An Oral History of the Vietnam War – a book that was on The New York Times and Time magazine bestseller lists. He is also the author of To Bear Any Burden: The Vietnam War and Its Aftermath in the Words of Americans and Southeast Asians.
Dr. Robbins is the author of This Time We Win: Revisiting the Tet Offensive and is working with award-winning author and Vietnam veteran Phillip Jennings on a Vietnam War elective to be offered at IWP this fall.
Dr. Robbins commented: “The documentary gives a fresh look at a conflict that has been largely misunderstood and misrepresented, and honors the men and women who fought for freedom in South Vietnam.”
