IWP was pleased to present the United States Merchant Marine Academy Class of 2022 IWP Award for Excellence in Cyber Statecraft to MIDN Anders Marius, MIDN Andrew Nolan, and MIDN Colton Ramsey.
These Midshipmen were selected for their outstanding contributions and understanding of cyber intelligence and security while studying at the Academy. This award is part of an enduring partnership between IWP’s Cyber Intelligence Initiative (Ci2) and Kings Point.
Anders Marius is from Sitka, Alaska, and graduated first in his class from the United States Merchant Marine Academy as a maritime logistics and security major. Since graduating, he began working as a third mate on an oil tanker for OSG Inc. while maintaining his commitment to the Navy Reserve. Currently, he is in the process of moving to Pensacola, Florida to be near his girlfriend as she completes Navy flight training.
Andrew Nolan is from McLean, Virginia, and graduated summa cum laude from the United States Merchant Marine Academy as a maritime logistics and security major. Since graduating and commissioning, he began working as an active-duty Navy officer. In October, he will move to Charleston, South Carolina to begin training as a submarine officer at the Navy’s Nuclear Power School.
Colton Ramsey is originally from Fairbanks, Alaska but has lived in various places in the United States and abroad due to his father’s military career. Since graduating with a degree in Maritime Logistics and Security from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, he has begun work as a third mate aboard an Offshore Supply Vessel in the Gulf of Mexico with Otto Candies, Inc. Colton has plans to extend his U.S. Naval Reserve commitment while hopefully obtaining a master’s degree in International Transportation Management and eventually a Ph.D. in Maritime Energy Management from the World Maritime University.
