IWP is very pleased to welcome Walter Brown as the new Director of Accounting for IWP. In addition, Tim Stebbins has been promoted to Senior Vice President for Graduate Recruitment, and Adèle Hartswick has been promoted to Academic Affairs Coordinator.
Walter Brown, IWP’s new Director of Accounting, joined the IWP team after working for three years at George Washington University. In his prior experience, Walter has been in public accounting, private accounting, and consulting.
He prides himself on his hard work and doing whatever needs to be done to get the job done. He enjoys nonprofit accounting and even has assisted his church with its accounting and record keeping.
Outside of work, Walter enjoys reading books and refereeing basketball. In the past, Walter has refereed Division III and Junior College basketball.
Tim Stebbins, an IWP alumnus (Class of 2011), has been promoted to Senior Vice President of Graduate Recruitment. After several years working on public diplomacy and political warfare strategies for the Afghanistan/Pakistan theater, he returned to IWP in 2013 to take on the role of Director of Graduate Recruitment and eventually Vice President in 2018. During his tenure, he crafted a strategy focused on developing personal relationships with prospective students that mirrored IWP’s classroom environment. From there, he turned IWP’s sights towards the creation of strategic partnerships with universities around the country, a program that has grown to nearly 30 university and private sector partnerships.
In his new role, Tim will continue to work with all doctoral program candidates; focus on the growth of the OGR team; and drive the expansion and IWP’s institutional outreach to achieve our strategic enrollment targets.
Adèle N. Hartswick, who recently was promoted to Academic Affairs Coordinator, received her undergraduate degree in Archaeology from the University of New Mexico and a master’s in Arts and Heritage from Maastricht University. Prior to joining IWP, she lived in Germany for six years teaching Business English and then served as the Academic Dean of a small educational institution running a summer school in Normandy and a gap year program in the U.S. for international high school students interested in economics, politics, philosophy, and history.
In her new role as Academic Affairs Coordinator, Adèle is responsible for faculty support, accreditation, and general administration of the Academic Affairs department as well as coordinating IWP’s summer study abroad trip to Greece.
