IWP Adjunct Professor Dr. Wayne A. Schroeder participated in an Atlantic Council Black Sea Task Force trip to Romania from June 4-10 in Bucharest and Constanta. The AC Black Sea Task Force will be issuing a report with actionable recommendations to strengthen Black Sea security later this summer. Dr. Schroeder, a Nonresident Senior Fellow with the Atlantic Council’s Scowcroft Center for Strategy and Security, is a member of the task force and is participating in the development of the report.
The trip included meetings with Romanian Prime Minister Nicolae-Ionel Ciuca, MFA Secretary Iulian Fota, MoND State Secretary Simona Cojocaru, and a trip to the Romanian MK Air Base that included an open-source briefing on the security situation in the Black Sea region. The trip was organized for the Atlantic Council by the Romanian National School of Political and Administrative Studies in Bucharest.
