Dr. James Robbins discusses China at dinner in Greensboro, NC

On September 8th, IWP President Ambassador Aldona Woś welcomed over 100 guests to her home in Greensboro, North Carolina for a dinner with special guest Dr. James Robbins, IWP’s Dean of Academics.

Amb. Woś opened the dinner by welcoming the guests and introducing Reverend Monsignor Anthony Marcaccio of St. Pius X Catholic Church who offered his blessings for the evening. Ambassador Woś recognized several distinguished guests, including Karen Armstrong and Leigh Sudbrink, both members of the Board of Advisors for IWP, and she gave thanks to Karen Armstrong, Susan Macheledt, and Bill Trivette for hosting Dr. Jim Robbins at an IWP/West Point Society Piedmont Luncheon earlier that day.

She then went on to describe IWP’s unique mission of providing a graduate and doctoral-level education that focuses on national security, intelligence, and international affairs based on a strong ethical code centered on the Western moral tradition. She highlighted IWP’s strength in preparing effective and ethical leaders in statecraft and foreign policy. She reflected on the values that helped her family resist both the German and Soviet occupations of Poland and how these values are instilled in the students of IWP.

Dr.  James Robbins then spoke on the future of China’s increasing power projection. A former special assistant in the Office of the Secretary of Defense, Dr. Robbins holds a Ph.D. from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy and has taught at National Defense University.

The dinner ended with Ambassador Woś thanking those who attended for their support and extending an invitation to IWP’s October 26th Gala “From IWP with Love: An Evening of Espionage” hosted at the International Spy Museum in Washington, DC.

Thanks to generous donations from guests of the dinner, IWP has raised over $26,000 to support its mission to provide professional education in statecraft and national security affairs.
