The United States Military Academy at West Point held its annual Awards Convocation and Superintendent’s and Distinguished Cadet Awards Ceremony for graduating seniors on Thursday, 23 May 2024. Every year, The Institute of World Politics (IWP) is in attendance to present the “Excellence in Cyber Statecraft” to the graduating Cadet who distinguished him or herself in the field of Cyber Intelligence. This year’s award recipient was Cadet Peter J. Toth, Cadet in charge of the West Point Cyber Policy Team.

IWP Executive Vice President, Chris Glass, and IWP’s Chief Information Officer, Dean Lane, represented IWP and presented the Excellence in Cyber Statecraft award to Cadet Toth. Also in attendance for the ceremony were his parents, from Manahawkin, New Jersey.

Cadet Toth received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics with a minor in Cybersecurity and was commissioned 2nd Lieutenant on May 25th.  President Biden was in attendance and provided the commencement address.

Lieutenant Toth will attend the Computer Network Operator Qualification Course (CNOQC), and then he will go to the Basic Officer Leadership Course at Fort Gordon, Georgia.  He will then be assigned to Fort Meade, Maryland.

This is the sixth year that IWP has presented this award to a West Point cadet.
