On August 6 and 7, 2024, members of the IWP community gathered at the Lake Tahoe estates of Mr. Stephen Finn and IWP’s Board Chairman, John Lovewell. This two-day lakeside briefing delved into the complex discussion of national security and the impact of the 2024 presidential election.
IWP President Ambassador Aldona Z. Woś, Executive Vice President Captain Christopher Glass, and Dean of Academics Dr. James Robbins provided remarks on a wide range of national security topics, including threats posed by China, Russia, North Korea, and Iran and how shifting domestic politics will affect the current delicate balance of power in the world.
Amb. Woś reflected on Ronald Reagan’s warning that freedom is fragile and is never more than one generation away from extinction. She stated that it is the mission of IWP to “educate people in the realities of the international system and the importance of defending American founding values and the Western moral tradition, to defend those freedoms that we all hold dear for the generations yet to come.”
CAPT Christopher Glass discussed internal threats that face the United States, while Dr. James Robbins elaborated on external threats against the country. Both spoke at length about the current national security environment and how IWP is helping teach the next generation of national security leaders and policymakers.
IWP is very grateful to Mr. Finn and Mr. Lovewell for making this event possible.
