IWP Professor Aaron Danis recently moderated a panel discussion for the Connections Online professional wargaming conference titled “Creating Future Scenarios for Modern Wargames.”
The three multi-disciplinary panelists included a wargame designer (Mitchell Land), a futurist/novelist (August Cole), and the G-2 (Ian Sullivan) of the U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC). They discussed available tools to create realistic and out-of-the-box scenarios for wargaming, focusing on the scenario narrative, how to play the adversary, and how to integrate it into a wargame design.
