Prof. Dustin Droullard has joined the IWP faculty and is teaching a new online course: Cyber Threat Intelligence (IWPO 727).
“The skills needed to succeed in the cyber security industry are varied, and cyber threat intelligence is one of the specialized skillsets that is often underutilized in security programs,” said Prof. Droullard, a Principal Consultant for Public Sector at a leading threat intelligence company. “This course equips students to better understand cyber threat intelligence at the strategic, operational, and tactical levels.”
The course first looks at the strategic necessity of understanding nation-state cyber threat intelligence and then considers the applications at the operational level. Case studies include campaigns attributed to China, Russia, Iran, and North Korea, as well as other threat actors. The course includes a look at tactical applications of threat intelligence across public and private sectors.
Prof. Droullard brings significant experience to his teaching at IWP. In his current role, he advises clients across the U.S. government on maturing their security intelligence capabilities. He has been selected to present on various topics to the Department of Commerce, US Cyber Command, Department of Homeland Security, and foreign partners.
Previously, Prof. Droullard served in leadership and analysis roles at the DoD Cyber Crime Center (DC3), the US Air Force Cyber Resiliency Office for Weapons Systems (CROWS), the Department of Energy (DoE), and the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA).
Prior to federal contracting, Prof. Droullard spent nearly 12 years as an All-Source Intelligence Analyst in the US Army, both on active duty and in the National Guard. He was assigned to the US Cyber Command, US Forces Korea, the Defense Language Institute, and Multi-National Force-Iraq, among others.
