IWP is pleased to announce the addition of a new member to the IWP Board of Trustees: Jon DuPrau. He joined the board this February.
“Jon has been a supporter of IWP for many years, and we are very pleased to welcome him to the Board,” said Hon. Tidal McCoy, Chair of IWP’s Trusteeship Committee. “His expertise and strategic perspective will help guide our next chapter, and we are grateful for his willingness to serve.”
Jon DuPrau has built his professional career at the intersection of strategy, governance, and disciplined analysis, guided by a longstanding intellectual interest in national security, intelligence, and international affairs. His work reflects a deep alignment with the core principles of The Institute of World Politics, including ethical statecraft, pragmatic realism, and the responsible application of power in service of national and global stability.
Professionally, Jon is a Managing Partner of Quantum Portfolio Management and Index Technologies Group, where he has been an early advocate for integrating academic rigor, empirical analysis, and advanced technology into institutional decision-making frameworks. Over more than two decades, his work has emphasized strengthening governance, reducing bias, and aligning strategy with mission – principles that support IWP’s emphasis on disciplined judgment, moral responsibility, and the thoughtful use of economic and informational instruments of power.
Throughout his career, Jon has worked closely with boards, investment committees, and senior leadership teams, advising organizations whose mandates require long-term thinking, fiduciary discipline, and an appreciation for geopolitical and systemic risk. This experience has reinforced his conviction, central to IWP’s mission, that effective statecraft depends on leaders who understand history, culture, economics, and human behavior, not solely technical models or abstract theory.
Jon’s relationship with The Institute of World Politics spans more than six years of active service in the Chancellor’s Council, during which time he has been a consistent advocate and supporter of the Institute’s role in preparing future leaders for careers in national security, intelligence, diplomacy, and strategic competition. He regards this work as a core public-policy priority, recognizing that the ethical formation of leaders is as essential as their technical competence.
In addition to his professional life, Jon has demonstrated a sustained commitment to cultural, civic, and faith-based institutions, serving in board and leadership roles across the arts, education, and public service. This engagement reflects his belief in moral character, cultural literacy, and an understanding of civilizational foundations.
As a Trustee of The Institute of World Politics, Mr. DuPrau brings a perspective shaped by strategic realism, ethical governance, and interdisciplinary thinking, along with a proven record of institutional stewardship and long-term commitment to IWP’s mission. He views trusteeship not simply as governance, but as custodianship of an intellectual tradition dedicated to preparing principled leaders to navigate the complex instruments of power with judgment, restraint, and moral clarity.
