In March 2026, IWP and Howard University signed a Memorandum of Understanding to collaborate on national security education.

Highlights of the agreement include the option for early assurance for Howard University students, guaranteed slots in the IWP National Security Internship Program for Howard University students, partnership scholarships for Howard University students, and an opportunity for highly qualified students to begin an M.A. program as a part of the IWP National Security Internship Program.

Christine Balling, IWP Senior Vice President for Professional Affiliations, was instrumental in organizing this partnership. She commented: “We are very pleased to partner with Howard University, a school whose motto, ‘Truth and Service,’ closely aligns with the vision and approach of IWP. This partnership builds on IWP’s former collaboration with Howard University in the Intelligence Studies Consortium and Career Fair, and we look forward to welcoming Howard students and graduates at IWP.”
