Márcio Coimbra, a candidate for IWP’s M.A. in Statecraft and International Affairs, has recently joined a team of columnists for the new Brasil Post, the Brazilian version of The Huffington Post.
In his column, he will focus on American politics, and write articles about how America sees the world and decides its course for the whole Portuguese speaking community (eight countries and about 240 million people) who access the Brazilian Huffington Post. Having worked on a political campaign in 2008, Márcio will focus on elections when they occur in the US, and he will discuss how the American government discusses, decides, and delivers foreign and domestic policy.
“I am honored to be part of a team that will bring serious journalism and competent, targeted analyses to Brasil Post,” comments Márcio.
In addition to his work for Brasil Post, Márcio writes a weekly column for the prestigious Brazilian website Diário do Poder (www.diariodopoder.com.br) and has been published in several business newspapers and magazines in Brazil (Valor Econômico, Gazeta Mercantil, Correio Braziliense, among others). He has appeared in several political TV programs, including Globo and Record channels and Voice of America (USA).
At IWP, Márcio serves on the editorial board for the student-run academic journal, Active Measures.
