IWP Student Ambassadors at 9/11 5K Run, 2014On Saturday September 6th, eleven IWP students, staff, and alumni joined nearly 4,000 other runners in the Arlington Police, Fire & Sheriff 9/11 Memorial Race to benefit military personnel and civilians directly affected by the attacks against America on September 11, 2001. The 2014 charities included the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation, Segs4Vets, Team Rubicon, and T.A.P.S.

The 11 runners of Team IWP represented the Institute well while demonstrating teamwork, leadership, and pride. We are very proud of the sportsmanship and competitive spirit the students and alumni who made up Team IWP. Student Alex Cunningham finished 9th in his age group and 10th overall.

Team Captain and IWP Student Ambassador Communication Liaison, Katrina Klaus stated: “The 9/11 Memorial Run is a worthy cause that IWP is proud to be a part of. Our dedication to preventing these kinds of attacks is interwoven in our curriculum as national security students. We run in memory of those we have lost and hope that it will never happen again.”
