IWP Non-Resident Scholar and alumnus Dr. Zak Allal was recently invited to play the National Anthem on the piano at a celebration of America’s Independence Day at the Residence of U.S. Ambassador to Algeria John Desrocher.
Those present at the event included Ambassador Desrocher and his wife; Mr. Abderrahmane Raouia, the Algerian Minister of Finance; and Mr. Youcef Yousfi, the Algerian Minister of Industry.
The ceremony was held at the Montfeld villa, where the Algiers Accords were brokered and signed to resolve the Iranian hostage crisis in 1981.
