On Friday, January 31st, six alumni and two students who work or have worked at the Pentagon gathered to share career advice with a group of IWP students.
The panel discussed several career paths for students who are interested in beginning or continuing a career in national security. The panel contained students and alumni who were government employees, who had served in the military, who were political appointees, and who had worked with contractors. The panel portion was followed by a networking reception.
One alumni panelist commented: “I had a great time participating on a panel at The Institute of World Politics this past Friday with other alumni answering students’ questions about what it’s like to work at the Pentagon. Speaking to the students afterward was truly inspiring. They come from all walks of life, and with a strong desire to serve and protect our great country.”
This panel took place the day after alumni led students on a special tour of the Pentagon.
