IWP alumnus spearheads Naval Intelligence Vision and Guidance document

An IWP alumnus led the development and coordination of the 2019 Naval Intelligence Vision and Guidance document on behalf of Naval Intelligence Leadership. This document is a broad overview of the key goals and priorities of Naval Intelligence in the current and ever-changing environment. This document was finalized in 2019 and recently released to the public.

The Naval Intelligence Vision and Guidance document outlines how Naval Intelligence will support the military in preparing to address threats now and in the future. This document goes beyond what one would normally assess as a maritime threat and focuses on combatting issues such as cyber, space, and emerging disruptive technology in comparison to conventional military threats or asymmetric and hybrid threats.

The document describes how Naval Intelligence will work on its four primary goals: strengthening naval power at and from the sea, achieving high velocity outcomes, strengthening our Navy team for the future, and expanding and strengthening our network of partners.

“The document took over a year for me to coordinate, and I couldn’t possibly list all of the exceptionally gifted strategists in Navy and across government who contributed,” commented our alumnus.
