Four students receive the 2025-2026 Louis DeJoy and Aldona Z. Woś Family Foundation Scholarship

The prestigious Louis DeJoy and Aldona Z. Woś Family Foundation Scholarship has been awarded to four students in 2025-2026: Caleb L. Fowler, Emily Lewis, Sophie Moyer, and “Michael.”

The Scholarship was established in 2017 through a $1 million gift by Louis DeJoy and Amb. Aldona Woś, and it is available to distinguished IWP students up to 2027. It provides up to full tuition per semester to students who have demonstrated exceptional academic, professional, and personal achievement. Recipients also must have a history of leadership or a clear potential for leadership, and an evident potential to succeed in IWP’s rigorous academic environment.

In the past nine years, 25 IWP students have received this scholarship. Helen Lamm and Isaac Brocato received the inaugural award in 2017. The following year, Christopher, Gabrielle, Emily, and Jennifer were awarded the scholarship. In 2019, Braden, Donald, and Sarah received the award. Holt and Parker received it in 2020, followed by Francisco Pérez, Angelica, and Matthew the next year. In 2022, Ashton Earl, Robert Bankowski, and Jacob Bosen received it. Peace Ajirotutu, Amanda Clark, and Anders Jensen were awarded the scholarship in 2023, and the 2024 recipient was Amandalynne Davis.

Caleb L. Fowler
Awarded $50,000

“I can recall few times in my life when my breath was taken away, and receiving word that I had been awarded the DeJoy Woś Scholarship was one of them. I am deeply grateful for the generosity of Mr. DeJoy and Ambassador Woś, which has made it possible for me to attend IWP and for my family and me to settle into a new life in D.C. IWP is the type of institution I have been looking for, and I am incredibly proud to be a part of it. Thank you for your belief in me and for this life-changing opportunity.”

Caleb L. Fowler is originally from the Texas Hill Country and earned his B.A. in History & International Studies in 2018 from Rhodes College in Memphis, TN. After spending four more years at his alma mater as an admission counselor plus the next three years as a professional development coach for college students in Memphis, Caleb felt called to a career change and a move to D.C. He credits an IWP professor’s letter to the editor in the printed Wall Street Journal for leading him to the Institute at just the right time in his life. 

Stemming from his upbringing in classical education at Veritas Academy in Austin and continued education within the liberal arts tradition at Rhodes College in Memphis, Caleb has particular appreciation for American and European history, philosophy, and virtuous leadership. His studies of Western civilization, global power conflicts, world leaders, and emerging technologies are rooted in a sense of gratitude for the American tradition he has inherited and a zeal to expand the opportunities it can provide to others. Caleb is pursuing IWP’s M.A. in Statecraft and National Security Affairs.

Emily Lewis
Awarded $25,000

“I am so incredibly thankful to Mr. DeJoy and Ambassador Woś for their generosity and support of my education. Their scholarship made pursuing my master’s degree possible. Mr. DeJoy and Ambassador Woś’s kindness and selflessness changed my life. I am truly humbled and will utilize the education that they made possible to serve both the Institute and our country to the very best of my ability.”

Emily Lewis is originally from the small town of Stanley, North Carolina. In May 2025, she graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Peace, War, and Defense and Political Science with a minor in History. She was sixteen years old when she decided to pursue a career in public service and answer the call to serve her country. Her undergraduate and now graduate education are preparing her for a career in national security.

She first visited IWP as an intern with The Fund for American Studies and fell in love with the school, its community, and its emphasis on learning from and educating practitioners. After graduating from UNC, she worked as a national security research intern at IWP and began her graduate studies in the Fall 2025 semester. 

Sophie Moyer
Awarded $25,000

“I am deeply grateful to the DeJoy/Woś family for their generosity and for believing in students like me. Their support allows my fellow scholarship recipients and me to pursue our dreams in a field that demands commitment, curiosity, and hard work. Because of their kindness, I’m able to study something I truly care about — and my goals feel closer and more attainable. Thank you.”

Sophie Moyer grew up in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, and graduated in May 2025 from Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster with a B.A. in Government and a minor in Psychology. In the summer of 2024, she interned with Advancing American Freedom, a think tank founded by former Vice President Mike Pence. That experience not only gave her a deeper understanding of life in Washington, D.C. but also connected her with Ambassador Aldona Woś — someone who profoundly shaped Sophie’s aspirations and helped her imagine new possibilities for her future.

Sophie has long felt called to serve her country. Through Ambassador Woś’s guidance, she discovered the world of intelligence and realized it offered a meaningful way to contribute to national security. She is now pursuing an M.A. in Strategic Intelligence Studies at The Institute of World Politics.

Looking ahead, Sophie hopes to join the Defense Intelligence Agency, where she plans to support the United States Military by helping provide the intelligence needed to guide critical decisions. She is passionate about contributing to efforts that protect the country and strengthen its security.

Michael*
Awarded $50,000

“I am profoundly grateful for the support of Louis DeJoy and Ambassador Woś. Without their civic-minded leadership and charitable commitment, I would not have had the opportunity to pursue my master’s degree at IWP, nor would I be as well prepared for a career in national security upon graduation.”

Michael finished his undergraduate with a degree in Finance and minor in intelligence, developing strong qualitative and quantitative analytical skills, a firm grounding in economic theory, and an understanding of financial systems. During his undergraduate years, he served as a Research Fellow at the National Intelligence University, where he advanced research on violent non-state organizations operating in South and Central Asia. He also gained legislative experience on Capitol Hill, working for a member of Congress focused on banking and national security issues. Taken together, these experiences have equipped Michael with a rare combination of technical acumen, policy awareness, and field-relevant research capability, positioning him as a valuable emerging contributor to the U.S. national security enterprise.
