Preparing for the Comprehensive Exams
In preparing for the comprehensive exams (both written and oral), all Master’s students should refer to the following:
Summer 2026 graduates may sign up for the written comp exams here. The oral comp exams will be scheduled after the successful completion of the written comp exam (and during the last two weeks of August). All MA students (online and onsite, including the ProfMA and ExecMA programs) must take and pass the written and oral comp exams. The degree conferral date for Summer is August 31.

Upon completing a Master’s program at IWP (onsite and online), every student should know the content in the following lists. A thorough review of these lists should also be done in preparation for the written and oral comprehensive examinations.
