“We are honored as an Institution of higher learning to have the privilege to serve the world’s greatest armed forces. The men and women who wear our nation’s uniform who have chosen The Institute of World Politics to pursue their graduate-level studies deserve the highest quality education, excellence, and accountability. We will always serve them, while they serve all of us in the defense of freedom.”
-Chris Glass, IWP Senior Vice President
The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed between The Institute of World Politics and the Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel Readiness and the Department of Defense Voluntary Education Programs is administered by the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Military Community and Family Policy and the Chief of Continuing Education in the Educational Opportunities Directorate. The agreement conveys the commitment and agreement between the Institute and the Department of Defense prior to receiving funds from a service’s (Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, and Space Force) Tuition Assistance program.
The program initiative is part of the President’s Executive Order for Principles of Excellence, designed to improve oversight of the educational programs offered to Service members and their families that ensure a quality DoD Tuition Assistance Program. It is designed to provide opportunities for Service members to realize their educational goals while allowing for judicious oversight of taxpayer dollars to include:
- Providing meaningful information to students about the financial cost and attendance at an institution so military-connected students can make informed decisions on where to attend school.
- Not use unfair, deceptive, and abusive recruiting practices, and provide academic and student support services.
- Strengthen existing procedures for educational institution’s access to DoD installations.
- Creates individual service level agreements between The Institute of Word Politics and the United States Army, Navy, Marine Corps, and Air Force.
Service members admitted to IWP should speak with their Educational Services Officer (ESO) or counselor within their Military Service prior to enrolling at IWP.
